LO4 : Be able to create a proposal using converging technologies to exploit the identified new markets

 For my product, as it is an immersive Virtual Reality product, I propose that we make this product exclusive to be accessed through virtual reality items such as the Oculus Quest series, HTC Vive series and Lenovo Explorer series of VR headsets. This is because if I allow my platform to be accessed via other channels such as PC or handheld smart devices, it ultimately removes the unique factor of my product that makes it distinguishable from other social media platforms such as Instagram, Tiktok and Snapchat.  This product will be converging into the computing and the social media sectors due to the fact that my product is going to be released onto Steam which is the same place that other VR products such as VR Chat, a product similar to mine in a lot of ways. LO3 - Be able to illustrate how the legal, ethical, social and moral issues are considered within the product proposal

  LO3.1 Legal and regulatory requirements Due to my product serving as a social platform, there are many legal and regulatory requirements. Firstly I must make sure that my product is age tagged by the correct regulatory body and to the correct age rating; in this case as a virtual reality product for social communications, it will be set to a PEGI and ESRB rating of 13 ,however due to the ability for people to have a custom avatar and the ability to use violent, strong language it will be set that users agree to the following EULA, by doing so they represent and warrant to us that: They are at least 13 years old You have not been previously suspended or removed from the service Your registration and use of the service complies to all applicable laws and regulations If you are between 13 and 18 years of age you only have access to the service with consent from a legal parent or guardian after having read the EULA Moreover, other reg...

LO2 - Be able to correlate the evolution of new media organisational cultures and roles which have impacted on the product proposal

  LO2.1 Virtual reality is a fairly new technology with a lot of areas for innovation, companies such as Oculus and HTC being the main conglomerates which lead in the market however many 3rd party companies and individuals have been working to develop their own headsets and technology, for example: Diver-X have been working on their own half dive virtual reality gear which allows people more freedom of movement within the virtual world, this is due to haptic sensors and fans which can replicate wind and motion shock to make it seem like you are actually there, this is a huge advancement on the current Oculus Quest 2 as that is still limited by the roomspace unless you have the additional slide plate as it makes the users experience more natural in terms of movement.
