LO5 - Response to Feedback

Based on the feedback given, the main sector which needed improvement is to do with privacy in terms of small chat groups. This is because the premise of the whole thing is that it is open world set over the span of many terrains. However, with this being an open world there seems to be no sense of privacy as through voice chat, people are able to listen to other people's conversations as there is no form of restrictions.  So, to accommodate for this following on the feedback from Anne, I hope to add a 'House' feature in which people will be given a basic apartment to start with and customise however to increase revenue from the product, there will be custom houses and land surrounding up for purchase via NPC locations and will be purchased using a virtual currency specific to Atlas. This currency will also be used on clothing, cosmetics and accessories as it allows for more personalisation when it comes to my product and also serves the main purpose of allowing for a priva...

LO5 - Evaluation of Feedback

From the feedback I have received, I have found that where my idea is great and I thought deeply into my practicality and the opportunities that come with this product. It brings a lot of new ideas and concepts while innovating upon current social interaction concepts with the idea of your own personal space being one of them and allowing people to customise this space.  So from this I feel like the next step of planning for my product would be adding in new customisation options as this seemed to be the most popular section of my product and I feel I should make it so that people can customise not just how they want their experience to look but also make it so that they can customise what they want their experience to feel like and how they want to use and make the most of the service, as I had explained in my presentation, my service will have both professional and social uses dependant on the user's needs.  However, I believe that to have even better feedback on my idea, an...

LO5 - Feedback from Anne Doncaster

As part of our project, we presented to a media specialist in order to get their feedback, in this case it was to Anne Doncaster, a lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University and a specialist in Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. This made it perfect for my project as mine is heavily focused on Virtual Reality and how it can be used to innovate upon current social media.  Overall she was quite impressed with my idea and my thought process as I has clearly gone through it and made it clear and structured as to how it would work and how I would go through each stage of production and then the steps I'd take after my production in order to market it. She also liked how i had been realistic and identified issues in terms of the limitations of modern day technology, the availability of VR technology and how social interactions can affect people. However Anne also identified an issue with the area of interactions as she felt that just having a city to socialise in would be a little over...
